Poh spent the first nine years of her life living in Kuala Lumpur, before her family migrated to South Australia.

She completed a Bachelor of Design and freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator before becoming a full-time artist in 2002, but her passion for food drove her to apply for 2009’s MasterChef Australia.

Poh came a close second to first ever MasterChef Australia winner Julie Goodwin and was immediately approached by ABC television to present her own cooking series. She also signed a two-cookbook deal with ABC Books and Harper Collins.

Last year saw Poh launch her second TV cooking series Poh’s Kitchen on the Road and start work on her next cookbook. She also found the time to prepare for an art exhibition and receive a Logie nomination for ‘Most Popular New Female Talent’.
