Making the contestants – particularly Ben – howl with delight, news of MasterChef’s impending visit to Tasmania sent a surge of uncontrollable excitement through the kitchen. Kicking off tonight at 7pm on TEN, get ready to go on an adventure to the heart of one of Australia’s richest culinary destinations.
Taking place at Hobart’s legendary Salamanca Market, Monday’s MasterChef sees teams of four set up stalls selling dishes comprised exclusively of market-sourced ingredients. The team making the most money (whilst also convincing the judges of their food’s merits) gets to cook-off against each other for the right to compete for Immunity.
On Tuesday, the Immunity ‘hunt’ begins, with the winning Team Challenge members temporarily casting friendships aside as they battle individually to prepare the dish that will earn them the chance to square-off against a celebrity chef for a precious pin.
Wednesday serves up another Team Challenge, with afternoon tea on the menu. Preparing refreshments for 100 discerning seniors will take more than a smile, with the contestants called upon to even mill their own flour to get the job done.
With the losing team facing an Elimination Challenge on Thursday, one contestant’s Tasmanian adventure and indeed their MasterChef dream will end. A skills test followed by a pub grub cook-off will be the challenges to seal someone’s fate, before the gang sets off for home.
Who will be left standing when MasterChef returns to the kitchen for Friday’s MasterClass? You’ll have to tune-in to Tassie week to see!
