Jules 'Julia' Pike

Jules’ family led to her interest in food and cooking as it always played a major role in their lives growing up - her entire family had a passion for it. She started cooking when she was very young and has always loved it.

“One of my earliest memories was making apple pie with Granny. She makes the best apple pie. I have her recipe but I don’t make it as good as her!”

Jules loves trying new things and doesn’t like to limit herself her strengths are her knowledge of flavours and her ability to multi-task. Desserts are her weakness.

“I am ever evolving in my cooking, I must admit I do a mean pork belly, and I’m good at making sauces from scratch. I’m not really a sweet cook which is something I will have to challenge myself with.”

Jules’ greatest triumph in life has been moving to Darwin from the Gold Coast. “It was one of the best things I’ve done for myself, it was like a new start in life to make a change and be challenged.”

Jules is determined to make food and cooking her life, she hopes to stay in the competition long enough to give her opportunities to open the food and wine bar in Darwin and live out her dream.
