I think George will be great in the kitchen. The right vintage, laid back with great attention to detail. He looks like he would enjoy cooking.

Dont underestimate the Silver Fox of Aussie journalism! IIRC he has a home in Italy and spends a fair bit of time there.

Hard to live in Italy and not embrace the food culture. Fresh and seasonal!

I think he'll do well also...
