Callum and Adam have organised a mystery box for Gary and George to tackle and have given them each 30 minutes to create a dish
Callum and Adam have fun putting the pressure on George and Gary! They ask George if fish and chocolate really are a good combination
After the fun of the reunion and the final Masterclass, Callum and Adam need to prepare themselves for the pressure and nerves they're about to face in the grand finale!
The final three arrive in the kitchen of Government House and are told they will each be cooking one dish for 35 people and can decide amongst themselves as to who cooks which dish
Adam is in charge of the entrée, a Tartlet of Two Trout with Watercress and Roast Tomato. He must carefully de-bone the fillets which is a very time-consuming task
Claire chooses to make the Roast Rack of Lamb with Mushrooms, Broad Beans and Polenta. With 70 cutlets to prep, Claire struggles with the amount of prep work required
A dish most suited to him, Callum is in charge of the dessert - Chocolate Fondant with Orange Jelly and Honey Anglaise. There are no excuses for Callum today and the fondants must be perfect!
The judges decide that Claire's performance in the kitchen today and the quality of food she produced was the least impressive and therefore she is eliminated
Today's challenge for the final four is to put forward their cookbook idea and present three dishes that would feature in it
The contestants have free reign in the pantry and two and a half hours to complete their three dishes
Gary, George, Maggie Beer and Matt will taste all the dishes and determine which contestants will move forward into the Final Three!
Between Claire and Jimmy, Jimmy produced the least impressive dishes today and based on this, he is eliminated
Adam, Claire and Callum have made it into the final three and are ecstatic! They will now head to Canberra for the final challenge before the finale
Jimmy's advantage allowed him to pick the mystery box ingredients for today's challenge. A hurdle for the other contestants, there are no proteins or fruits!
The contestants must produce two dishes - one sweet, one savoury - to be jusged to Matt, Gary and guest judge Shannon Bennett
Courtney struggles to come up with an idea for her sweet dish. Bennett advises her to go with her instincts and she chooses to make crepes and a lemon curd for her second dish
It came down to Claire and Courtney's dishes but unfortunately Courtney's dishes were the least impressive and she is eliminated
Jimmy, Callum, Claire and Adam have made it all the way into the Final Four and their beaming faces express their absolute delight
The contestants are in for one epic challenge today as they recreate Zumbo's V8 Cake, eight layers of vanilla formed into one beautiful cake creation!
The longest pressure test in MasterChef history, the final six have four hours to complete the cake but everyone has difficulties, even those who studied the recipe overnight
After four hours, the contestants are in a scramble at the end of their time as they all try to assemble the cake and add the finishing touches
There are varied forms of cake presented to the judges as some contestants have impressed and others have clearly failed in the task
Callum, Alvin and Courtney are the bottom three performers of the day but it is Alvin who is eliminated after he clearly failed in achieving those defined layers of cake
The judges have brought in Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai for todays invention test challenge. The contestants are split into teams of three and must present a custacean banquet!
Adam is excited to have Sakai in the kitchen today, admitting that he's watched almost all of Sakai's television shows
The one hour, fifteen minutes allotted time goes by in a flash and the teams rush to plate all their dishes before serving to the judging panel
The judging panel can't get enough of Courtney's chilli mud crab! George ignores the sweats and devours the dish and Sakai asks for more
The red team win the challenge and score the advantage of receiving the recipe for tomorrow's pressure test! And they're mighty glad once they learn it's an Adriano Zumbo dish…
George cooks the prawn skewers on a yakitori grill and drops some thyme onto the coals so that they help to smoke the prawns and add more flavour!
Claire and Jimmy join Christine Manfield for a private Masterclass to learn all about spices and how to balance the flavours
Gary assembles his bench and begins to create the spun sugar using a sheared whisk to have multiple threads forming at once
George slices open the brownie to reveal it's gooey centre - irresistible!
Chocolate Gluttony, an extravagant dessert consisting of cream, various ice-creams, chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, spun sugar, meringue and raspberries!
Aaron, Alvin and Jimmy compete in Round 1 of the elimination challenge. They must identify what fish is revealed from under each cloche
Jimmy has scored 6 out of 8 correct, thus saving himself from possible elimination. Alvin and Aaron will now compete in Round Two
Alvin and Aaron have 40 minutes to produce the most flawless Fish and Chips possible! Aaron works on french fries whilst across from him, Alvin makes chunky chips
Alvin wipes clean his plate, he has made a salsa to accompany the dish whilst Aaron has made fresh mayonnaise. Looks like a close call...
Despite a great mayonnaise, Aaron's french fries let him down. Consequently he is eliminated whilst Alvin moves through to the final week
Possibly the most important challenge of the series, the contestants will cook their signature dish for culinary icons Alla Wolf-Tasker, Mark Best, Kylie Kwong and Jacques Reymond
Even with a night to plan and two hours to complete the dishes, the time flies as each contestant pushes themselves to create something amazing
Callum steps back, devastated, as time has run out and he hasn't plated a pie and salad on every dish
In turn, each contestant serves their dishes to the judging panel to be tasted and scored. Courtney's 'Asian Banquet' is the last dish to be tasted
With 44.5 points out of 50, Claire takes out first place! Callum is stunned when he ties for second place with Courtney. Adam places third with 40 points out of 50. These four contestants have made it into the final week!
Shaun Presland from Sake restaurant has set a tuna tasting plate for Claire to recreate today. Even with 6 stitches in his fingers his knife skills impress!
After Claire's thermometer shatters in the hot oil and she starts to loose her calm and confidence
Claire becomes emotional as the end of the alotted time approaches and Shaun comes to help her out and she's given 10 minutes extra time
George, Donna and Matt inspect and taste both Plates and score them according to their technique, taste and presentation.
Claire's dish scores her a total of 21 points, but Shaun scores a 9 from Matt and a 10 from both Donna and George, making him the clear winner today!
Christine Manfield reveals today's dish 'Spice-Roasted Squab with Turnip Cake'. The dish is very technical and the accompanying three-page recipe includes fifty-five ingredients!
Gary and Christine survey the contestants and check their process. Jonathan comments that he is working very methodically in order to get all the process completed
George attempts to give Courtney some advice in regards to measuring the ingredients but she replies that she is tasting along the way
Gary, George, Christine and Matt taste each dish and are quite impressed with what the contestants have produced despite few errors
Jonathan incorrectly carved the squab, resulting in the bird being undercooked and 'unacceptable'. Unfortunately his journey has come to an end
The winner of tonight's mystery box challenge will side-step the invention test and possible elimination!
The contestants must create a dish that reflects a sin, either Envy, Wrath, Pride, Gluttony, Greed, Lust or Sloth.
Having won the mystery box challenge and the power to choose the order, Claire nominates Courtney to pick the first sin
Jimmy's rissoles did not impress the judges and they comment that although his sin was 'sloth', it was not an excuse to be lazy
Jimmy, Jonathan and Courtney's dishes were the least impressive of the day and consequently they face the elimination challenge
