This week’s celebrity chef, Ben O’Donoghue is a familiar face on Australian television screens thanks to his popular series, Surfing The Menu.
The eager young chef landed a job at The River Café, where Ben became fast friends with future food superstar Jamie Oliver. After he appeared on episodes of Jamie’s Naked Chef series, Ben went on to have a television series of his own with The Best and write the accompanying cookbook. Ben also clocked up more restaurant achievements in London as Executive Chef of the famous Monte’s Club and the renowned Atlantic Bar and Grill. Now living in Australia again with his wife and three children, Ben regularly writes for food publications and released a new cookbook last year, Outdoor: Grill Your Way Round the World.
38-year-old Ben has been a chef for 20 years and food is one of his main passions, along with surfing. Having worked at top Australian restaurants such as Jessica’s in Perth and Sydney’s Tribeca and Goodfellas restaurants, Ben went travelling and found himself in London at 26 years of age.
