Internationally acclaimed and revered food critic Matt Preston joins Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, and Anna Gare for Junior MasterChef Australia.

Well-known for his cravats and warm on-screen presence, Preston’s a TV favourite which saw him nominated for a TV Week Silver Logie for Most Popular New Male Talent in 2010. He also received the Graham Kennedy Award for Outstanding New Talent.

Matt’s also a seasoned journalist and was awarded the highly sought after title of World's Best Food Journalist in 2008 at the World Food Media Awards.

Away from the TV spotlight, Matt writes a column in News Ltd’s Taste section and contributes to Australia’s prestigious food and lifestyle publications. He’s also written for The Age newspaper’s food section, Epicure; Vogue Entertaining + Travel; Delicious; The Guardian newspaper (UK) and Time Out (London).

Before joining MasterChef Australia, Preston was Creative Director of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival for over five years. In this time Matt transformed the festival into a world-class event.

Popular across all media, Matt’s made guest appearances on several TV shows including Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?, the ABC's First Tuesday Book Club and SBS's historic quiz show AD/BC. Matt’s also a published author with his book Cravat-A-Licious; he’s also released a compilation album of music to cook and eat by called Matt Preston - Music from another Platter.
